the end is near!

still unspoiled! which is good, because last year I found out that Sirius was the one that dies in the day before the book came out, which totally made the ending anti-climactic to me.

meanwhile- this place is grossly humid. AY NEW JERSEY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU

Well, I know the ending - and it is nto gong to be anticlimactic for me, because I am going to spend 600-plus pages wondering how the Devil she gets there form here. Still four and a half hours till the shop where I pre-ordered it opens, here....

I don't know the ending yet, but now I know the beginning! :D Convinced the father to drive me to the bookstore and back so I could start on it quicker.

I'm getting to it now, so I'll be resurfacing tomorrow after I've read more and slept. :D

To the bookstore and back? Did they have a midnight opening? Ah well, enjoy it and ignore the noise of frustration coming from across the Atlantic...

Oh, and London has been "grossly humid" (nicely put!) and hot for the last several days, mbot, incredibly, not tonight. For the first time in four mornings, I can breathe. I wonder if JkR arranged that?

God, I remember my August in in New York in 1985... never felt heat and humidity like that before, never. Suddenly I knew why Americans were so mad about air conditioning.

New York City is even worse than here. At least I'm in a (relatively) open suburb. The city is one big compressed box of heat, especially with the millions of people around you.

Oy. Just the thought of it makes it feel hotter in here. Then again, the central air broke two days ago and since then we've been making do with window fans and assorted little fans. Ick. Never quite appreciated the air conditioning quite as much until I lost it while it was swelteringly hot outside.

I found out who dies in this one about an hour before I got my book. Not a definite answer, but pretty close to it...
